SMITHY (noun) - the workshop of a smith(metal worker)
Wild Smithy is a unique little workshop. Pieces are handcrafted in various wild locations throughout the Western US on the tailgate of a 2000 Toyota Tacoma.
Fueled by my love of camping and the inspiration I constantly found while out in nature, I was inspired to create a fully functional workspace that I could drive into the wild. While running on solar energy, the entire “studio” can be packed up in one large case and a few totes.
I am an artist who has spent a lifetime loving and exploring the world in many forms. I thrive off of the feeling of hitting a back road with the windows down and the smell of a fresh adventure filling the cab. My work is heavily influenced by the things that inspire me along those adventures. While constantly inspired by many different subjects and always experimenting with my style and forms, my hope is that my work is always honest and authentically me. I am still on the wild journey of discovery and learning and I wouldn’t have it any other way
